From World Cup Climber to Aviation Mental Performance Coach: Jürgen Reis

Show notes

Episode 31 of Aviation-Quest.cc – Stories from Above

In this special episode of Aviation-Quest.cc – Stories from Above, the usual interview structure changes direction: this time, A320 First Officer and FSClips creator Stefan Lorenz takes the lead and speaks with co-host Jürgen Reis about the background, experiences, and performance philosophy that shaped his current work in aviation mental performance coaching.

What begins as the story of a physically weak and initially sport-uninterested teenager gradually develops into a long-term journey through elite sport, mental training, structured performance systems, podcasting, coaching, and finally aviation-focused performance work.

Together, they discuss:
- How Jürgen built his physical foundation through years of disciplined training before entering competitive sport climbing
- The early competition successes that opened the door toward international climbing events and World Cup participation
- Why high-level competition quickly revealed that performance depends on far more than physical preparation alone
- The role of mental coaching, autogenic training, and structured psychological preparation during his competitive years
- How a Top-10 result in a Climbing World Cup became part of a much larger long-term learning process
- Why stable execution under pressure became the central lesson transferable into other demanding environments
- The evolution from athlete to coach, author, podcaster, and mentor
- The development of a growing Mental Coaching Syllabus for Aviation Professionals, now exceeding 150 pages as an internal operational framework for coaching work
- Why the physical component still matters today — but increasingly as a supporting layer for mental performance
- Jürgen’s current coaching work with pilots and aviation professionals in mentally demanding situations
- The philosophy behind his one-to-one coaching approach and why the first consultation always remains free and without obligation

The episode also touches on the long-running Power-Quest.cc podcast project, years of experience in long-form interviewing, and how communication, structure, and consistency became central themes across multiple fields.

Recorded as a calm and highly personal long-form conversation, Episode 31 offers insight into the mindset and development of someone who spent decades working in high-pressure performance environments — and who now increasingly applies those lessons within aviation.

Rather than presenting quick fixes or motivational slogans, this episode focuses on something more sustainable: structured preparation, mental stability, and the ability to remain operational when performance truly matters.

00:00:51: I am one of your hosts at AviationQuest.C.

00:00:54: This already podcast number thirty one And as always, I'm not alone here in the podcast cockpit.

00:01:03: Yeah so to say... In a left seat or whatever!

00:01:07: The main host of our professional pilot today is Stefan!

00:01:13: Hello!

00:01:14: Hey Jürgen how are you?

00:01:15: All good?

00:01:17: Good all good.

00:01:18: and Stefan You're also kind of your main host because without you we would have no podcasts on youtube which is a little bit unusual.

00:01:30: but even so we are an audio podcast.

00:01:33: We got YouTube channel that's aviation-quest broadcast and there some really nice background movies going on caused by your FS clips, Youtube skills I think also for this podcast.

00:01:51: you came up with real world flight.

00:01:56: Yeah, well today is a special episode.

00:01:58: So I had to do something special right you again.

00:02:01: so Today We are doing a real world flight but decided to mix it up a bit.

00:02:07: So we have flying with Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Munich.

00:02:11: this flight Is usually operated by an A-three twenty But we are doing it today within Airbus A three forty six hundred.

00:02:21: I was already thinking you are doing with the Cessna to have a three hour podcast.

00:02:27: No, no that would be really bad!

00:02:29: i don't think anyone want see me struggling with the cessna.

00:02:35: You know putting me on this spot here.

00:02:37: yeah we spoke about this podcast before and Yeah...I made a little bit of competition preparation.

00:02:47: I'm well prepared and also slept well, but Stefan put me to the spot today.

00:02:53: It's about.

00:02:54: all that Stefan wanna hear is... What was this?

00:02:57: People want to hear your story, Jürgen!

00:03:00: I am not sure about it, you can write or comment on.

00:03:05: my YouTube channel by the way are linked in.

00:03:11: This is my profile.

00:03:12: So, my real name Jürgen Reis became a little more or less the communication center of our podcast.

00:03:19: so they are also today.

00:03:21: already two pallets wrote back to new guests around the horizon.

00:03:25: if you want to be interviewed here like me today in an uncomfortable position just right on LinkedIn and as I said Yeah, I think it's the center of communication here.

00:03:45: It's weird how that has turned out but yeah if that is what people want to get in touch then why not?

00:03:52: So yes like Jürgen said you know we've talked a lot about myself and my career or flying But we have never ever talked about Jürgens And Jürgern.

00:04:04: In my opinion your careers are way more interesting than mine.

00:04:08: You achieved things that I think deserve a huge amount of respect.

00:04:13: Uh, i've always thought what you've achieved in your life is very remarkable and so I really wanted to dig down a bit because... You know?

00:04:24: ...you know what it's like.

00:04:26: we kept in touch but there was never really uh- Because we lived in different countries And with.. There was never close relationship during the time Got to go with you through all the details of how it all happened, How You got where are today and All that stuff.

00:04:46: So Today I want To ask you lots Of questions about your life And Your career if That's okay With you?

00:04:55: It was funny sorry that i came here.

00:04:58: just my mind Was wondering Throughout my World Cup years, I think i was still competing.

00:05:07: But you dropped into my Facebook account which is by the way no longer active but you dropped in to my facebook account asking Is this really you Jürgen?

00:05:20: You were doubting that there is another, yeah.

00:05:23: Yes I changed a little bit since we last met after high school or sorry middle-school?

00:05:31: Middle School?

00:05:31: yes well let's go back to the time because i'm really interested in this.

00:05:37: so for those of you who don't know Jürgen and I we know each other cause.

00:05:41: we went to middle school together.

00:05:42: So We Were Little Boys pre teenage boys Going To School Together.

00:05:49: We had a nice relationship.

00:05:51: I remember spending a lot of time, you know during break hours laughing with You.

00:05:56: i remember when we had the ski trip With the school?

00:06:00: We had A lot Of fun together.

00:06:03: But The one thing uh...I do not Remember is you being a very sporty person and i think i'm allowed to say that.

00:06:11: So the first question really Is how did this happen?

00:06:15: How Did you How did you develop this skill and when it just happened?

00:06:22: And how do you discover all these?

00:06:24: passion, I guess initially was a hobby for the sport.

00:06:31: When does your profession become career?

00:06:35: You ended up being one of best in world.

00:06:38: so tell me through process from little boy who In my memory did not have much interest in sports to one of the best in the world.

00:06:50: Yeah, I mean it was...I went to another school and afterwards started apprenticeship as a clerk an office assistant And obviously he was sitting a lot and A neighbor friend here Said i don't know He was in the same position like me literally also off his job.

00:07:11: Why don't we train?

00:07:13: and we went to the fitness parkour here nearby, I don't know.

00:07:18: We liked it!

00:07:20: And he said yeah...we could do this daily.

00:07:22: and i said yes..and all were ready....I think I forgot about him.

00:07:26: The next day he suddenly showed up saying hey you remember?

00:07:30: I said daily.

00:07:32: oh yeah okay from that moment on There were some exceptions but we almost daily trained, I think for three years if i get this right into the fitness track.

00:07:54: By the way we pre-recorded one of our intros and just don't know which one.

00:07:59: it was there in that wood.

00:08:04: Yeah, in this fitness track I really made over the thousands of push-ups and pull ups obviously.

00:08:13: And laddering stuff like that became a little bit so to say foundation on what was happening later because after the apprenticeship Oh, by the way I was already a glider pilot there.

00:08:27: Sorry for mixing topics down but that was new employee and i call him today my climbing mentor And he is one of best climbers in our region also competed There somehow...I don't know.

00:08:43: He became my climbing god.

00:08:47: One day he took me up to Iraq.

00:08:50: Yeah!

00:08:51: I just loved it.

00:08:52: I loved it.

00:08:53: I was struggling hard at the beginning, but from the very beginning on i wasn't a group of really competitive ambitious... Yeah!

00:09:05: In climbing groups here in my region and think that only seven months later i won my first regional championship.

00:09:14: this is quite amazing also shocked some people here.

00:09:19: you know climbing for years But certainly, this was also due to the fitness track stuff we did years before.

00:09:27: There I was so to say my fitness foundation and yeah then it got really somehow took off quick.

00:09:37: half a year later We were with the Alpine Club here in Arco.

00:09:44: It's a climbing paradise in Trentino, many listeners that are in the climbing scene know it.

00:09:54: and there was The Rockmaster going on.

00:09:58: Yeah, I think it is still maybe.

00:10:00: It's a World Cup.

00:10:01: now lost a little bit track with the competitive scene today But back then it was D. It was like Wimbledon in tennis.

00:10:09: It wasn't a little comparable.

00:10:11: So it was this one time or year big prize money and i watched his competition And suddenly he said...I want to be there someday!

00:10:26: I wanna climb on this wall.

00:10:27: And when I came back, it was somehow... Yeah.

00:10:31: I made a crazy decision and said that if you go fully in, then how far can we get into this sport?

00:10:41: So I went for professionalism!

00:10:44: There is certainly the problem of climbing not tennis so there's no money.

00:10:51: Certainly I had to work but I came up with projects.

00:10:55: I founded an IT company and this was, so to say my beside the climbing staff.

00:11:02: And also made other projects later on.

00:11:05: but yeah from there My Climbing Career To Stay On This Thing Started!

00:11:10: The Highlight Was In... ...In... ...Dance Place On The World Cup in Singapore And later on, I mean all the results can be found.

00:11:21: By the way a digital rock they still have so to say good old home page where listeners can find this is four or five pages of yeah and yeah i don't know.

00:11:35: i marked out some other highlights.

00:11:37: oh yeah there it was.

00:11:39: another highlight was Marbella ,I went through the fifteenth place in the World Cup.

00:11:43: It Was In And the ninth place in.

00:11:48: Saoirse Avalier was also a great thing.

00:11:51: Yeah, and last year I even returned to the Alcove Hall.

00:11:55: Even so it was the Masters.

00:11:57: It's another competition format than before Before the main event.

00:12:06: At least I made my dream come true in the very end of my career to get back into this archival, even though it was more or less symbolic.

00:12:15: But because the highlights from my career were back at the World Cup.

00:12:19: but yes...I climbed World Cups, I climbed World Championships and I climbed European Championships And I was a person Stefan didn't recognize anymore on Facebook.

00:12:32: Well you looked different your physique had changed alot So a little bit, so let me

00:12:40: this high school.

00:12:40: Yeah when you look at these photographs You might be right.

00:12:46: Yes I mean Let me take you back to the beginning again Your journey from This club your local club To The World Cup.

00:12:59: Was it something that came very easy?

00:13:01: were the times where your performance maybe went down or plateaued, was there a lot of difficulty to overcome?

00:13:11: Or were you just born climber.

00:13:16: Maybe I wasn't born climbers but underestimated especially the mental thing i mean in my...I wrote seven books by the way and my seventh book for the Mental Training Book an event there into more detail about this time after winning first regional or local championship here.

00:13:36: There was a series of competitions.

00:13:38: I messed up and I messed more, so it's getting worse.

00:13:44: The environment on the competition is highly structured, highly demanding And really unforgiving.

00:13:53: You perform?

00:13:54: Or you don't?

00:13:56: I really had to learn, deal with high pressure situations and a lot of help was my father.

00:14:09: My main mentor in life so-to say.

00:14:11: he had the idea in nineteen ninety seven.

00:14:19: He said there is psychologists working with sports.

00:14:25: people said somebody with tennis or something, but go to him and he might help you out.

00:14:32: And it was quite a drive from here that this man by the name of Dr.

00:14:38: Martin Nicolussi seemed really grounded person and talked in a calm normal way.

00:14:46: I mean first session anyway just Without any obligations, I'm free and just offer me yeah.

00:14:53: He can teach me auto-genic training and Work on other mental trainings techniques that might help me.

00:15:01: but yet my decision I should sleep over it.

00:15:04: But you know he made me this offer that he would helped me.

00:15:09: And Yeah for me It was a no brainer.

00:15:13: i came back to him after A few months as My whole mental game Was Yeah, I was a complete and utter competitor.

00:15:28: First on the nationals really strong I started winning national cups and this was certain.

00:15:35: You have to qualify for the World Cup, you cannot just go into the world cup saying that he is a climber or natural born climber.

00:15:43: It doesn't work in his way!

00:15:47: There also back then there were ranking lists but it's like other sports.

00:15:54: Climbing even though it wasn't as professional nor as advanced.

00:15:59: Austria was always a little bit the leading, at least it's way I looked in.

00:16:05: It is somehow a role model country how they organized whole system and also how to send people into international competitions.

00:16:15: but sooner or later this happened.

00:16:19: my list began where?

00:16:26: Milano was my very first World Cup.

00:16:28: This was in nineteen ninety-eight.

00:16:31: Stefan makes me wondering back here, memory lane today.

00:16:35: it's a beautiful podcast I like.

00:16:37: the second one was Vienna Neustadt yeah and then was Leipzig.

00:16:40: yeah remember from there.

00:16:42: as i said at the end of Yes, it was in the year of the World Cup and then it went up-up-up.

00:16:50: And certainly on a World Cup for me again!

00:16:52: First there is a Mass.

00:16:54: There are fifty ninths in Milan.

00:16:57: Twenty eighths were highlighted with Neustadt.

00:17:00: Then it was again mass-mass-mass-mess.

00:17:03: A lot of work.

00:17:04: I returned to Martin Nicolussi.

00:17:07: We made their follow-up coachings.

00:17:14: It was always for me a combination of getting physically stronger but also get mentally strong because it is as I said, its really unforgiving thing.

00:17:25: You have one day you have one route the qualification route which already pretty hard especially in an international competition.

00:17:33: your mess up and go home no matter if you flew to Singapore nobody cares.

00:17:39: yeah i can see that.

00:17:41: Yeah, that's the tough side of sports.

00:17:44: That people remember they're good sportsmen but forget there were hundreds of others competing who probably worked just as hard and couldn't perform on their particular day.

00:17:58: So you obviously work a lot on your mental fitness And from what you tell me made huge difference.

00:18:08: But what about other things?

00:18:10: When you compete at this level, do you have a team of people around?

00:18:16: You're helping with all parts in your life like food intake or diet.

00:18:23: Or is that something you just worked out yourself?

00:18:28: Did it seem to be the same as supporting other

00:18:33: people?

00:18:33: No, I was in a lucky position that had really a team of professional people around me even though it wasn't so to say a full-time job.

00:18:41: But i have a very good network and there were especially the highlights from my work up here.

00:18:48: this is not just coincidence but also when first book was created.

00:18:58: Unfortunately, those books are only German.

00:19:00: But for the German listeners in their very first book there is so to say my core team from back then.

00:19:07: So the trainer nutritionist and also my NLP trainer.

00:19:11: This was sort of a for me than next level off mental training And I mean to already bridge here a little bit too, yeah.

00:19:20: Hey is this an aviation broadcast or what?

00:19:23: Yes I mean What i learned with the mental coaching.

00:19:26: Is that mental strength?

00:19:28: it's skill That you can transfer into almost any high performance environment.

00:19:36: So was also flying in those years and yes It helps!

00:19:40: I had tests Especially.

00:19:46: I had sometimes negotiation with clients and also they put me to the test.

00:19:55: There was stress going on in life, it's live!

00:19:59: And you have to be mentally strong Also in life...and this helps.

00:20:07: I think Stefan as a pilot You already know what i'm speaking.

00:20:13: yeah, mental strength helps in every compartment of your life.

00:20:17: Yeah

00:20:17: absolutely we've talked about this a lot.

00:20:21: how you're mental state on the day over difficult exam or selection of a sim check whatever it may be actually plays a massive role on how do they will go.

00:20:36: before I let you further into the evasion with one last thing.

00:20:41: so When and how did you decide to stop climbing?

00:20:46: Was it your decision or was it just an age thing, tell me about the end of your career.

00:20:54: And is there something that's very difficult for you?

00:20:59: to step away from it... ...or were at a point where I said if done all well then I'm quite happy with letting go.

00:21:10: As I said in the very last years, i had really nice experiences also traveling with my daddy sometimes whole family because this was inside Europe to masters.Iwas allowed to compete and so they were outside the World Cup.

00:21:25: but still they say hey Jürgen you are able to go ,you can go.

00:21:31: You know the Austrian Federation.

00:21:34: Yeah, I also enjoyed Austria Cups but there it became harder and harder for me to get into the finals.

00:21:43: And... ...I was way way too old!

00:21:49: It was ridiculous!

00:21:51: I was competing against eighteen Euros.

00:21:54: so now.... I mean i had really sometimes such great people on a competition.

00:21:59: you know they were.. So how should i say?

00:22:07: they were applauding like crazy because there was this eighteen and twenty year old.

00:22:12: suddenly there is a thirty-eight, thirty nine in the last year or forty years old.

00:22:16: I mean never anybody corrected me on that but still i was only forty years of age ever in Austria competing in the real adults class of an Austrian championship.

00:22:34: maybe things have changed but back then I never had another statistics.

00:22:39: and yeah, very last year when i was forty.

00:22:43: I climbed again into our finals here at my local ball in Dormen.

00:22:46: it was a great experience.

00:22:48: after that there were an Austrian championships in Innsbruck where I say it straight way forward, even though i was in good shape everything was right.

00:22:59: but i just felt that the body was yeah... Body was too old.

00:23:05: I mean climbing is-I simplify here things a little bit from the sport certificate background.

00:23:10: But climbing is not marathon.

00:23:12: Climbing depends on maximum strength, bolder strengths and there is a natural age limit.

00:23:21: You can I mean nowadays maybe also you cannot do a marathon until uh i have no clue of marathon but it's not an enduring sport.

00:23:29: so it became all in the last years the sport changed maximum and power, you know explosive strength.

00:23:39: So all the things... You have biologically a harder-and-harder job.

00:23:45: so you can imagine it was.. The sports were getting harder.

00:23:48: my body was getting older.

00:23:50: yeah I mean this beautiful weekend in uh My daddy my family was there And i said Yeah It's okay.

00:23:59: I know i have to correct, but wanted one more win and competed again.

00:24:06: But when the preparation started afterwards it was also... I felt that this is over so I followed my heart.

00:24:14: Certainly it wasn't hard at all!

00:24:16: But yeah.. also somehow a transition in some other... I started calisthenics and bodyweight training.

00:24:24: This is by the way still the way I train now.

00:24:28: Today, also spent almost two hours in a gymnastic hall and the youngsters were wondering whether i was preparing there or learning?

00:24:38: I had a couple of English papers around me.

00:24:42: maybe they are the papers that you have on your desk!

00:24:47: Yeah...I don't know.. It's been a little bit in the podcast world today this afternoon.

00:24:55: As you see, it's sometimes also a combination and I think the respect to say that sport is okay.

00:25:08: You gave me enough and now another life starts.

00:25:14: but as i said ,I had lots of fun afterwards with other projects my most ambitious project in this podcast.

00:25:23: And yeah, today I was really already making notes of what I write this evening into my ongoing mental coaching syllabus for aviation professionals wherever the project leads me to.

00:25:36: But in a moment these podcasts and what's building up around it is so-to say also almost competitive sport.

00:25:45: now its fun!

00:25:47: Yeah, what was your question by the way?

00:25:50: No you answered it perfectly.

00:25:52: So before we go to today so you leave this board and you decide

00:25:59: To

00:26:00: make your own podcast which again for those who don't know became The largest German speaking podcasts in its field.

00:26:13: How did that come about?

00:26:14: Was it just an idea you had or did somebody ask and can tell us a little bit about the podcast, how this became so big.

00:26:26: No!

00:26:27: This was my friend working on... at an Austrian newspaper.

00:26:33: I don't know if he is still there, but He was asking me a couple of questions about my book and how to train him And i gave him some advice.

00:26:45: We had this before...I am not really business man!

00:26:47: I just gave him so much advice.

00:26:50: Then suddenly he wrote back that I work in the newspaper.

00:26:54: If you have ideas here You know, we could network.

00:27:01: and he suddenly sent me back then something that was completely new for me.

00:27:08: A link to a podcast of an American podcast.

00:27:11: And I think it was yeah It wasn't two or seven i Was injured anyway?

00:27:16: And i went too.

00:27:18: i think in your region.

00:27:19: i spent the week on a nice Island somewhere in the sun Or what's it land?

00:27:25: i Think it was lanza road damn not sure.

00:27:27: but There I was listening to those American podcasts and thinking, this doesn't sound like radio.

00:27:36: This sounds live on tape but even the quality is back then in two or seven.

00:27:40: you can imagine Stefan these were just telephone recordings more-or less And i came home.

00:27:50: We could do this and we were both, I mean it was his idea.

00:27:55: And the result was powerful to see!

00:27:59: It also was absolutely driven... I am a fully in personality.

00:28:07: As in because of Stefan already got his share, hope that i'm not too much of a burden for you sometimes!

00:28:15: But if start the project it's just none or nothing.

00:28:19: and at the moment all aviation questions are for me.

00:28:22: yeah...I'm working alot on this.

00:28:25: and also the mental side about the aviation world before is ...for me its whole new world a positive influence, like this.

00:28:37: I see that i have skills where they can help people throughout the last weeks and had some really great experience just in beginning of week was a highlight coaching an experienced pilot with strong airline background feedbacks.

00:29:00: next day it is very good Over one and a half hour on the telephone.

00:29:05: And yeah, I mean back to your question podcasting became a passion then?

00:29:10: Also certainly it helped somehow.

00:29:14: Podcasting is great for developing communication also coaching skills and also networking.

00:29:20: so everybody who wants To come up with a podcast absolutely wouldn't do It for their money.

00:29:28: I never did it for the money, but its such a great networking and also testing your own mental strength in you life on Dave communication strengths.

00:29:50: high pressure situation, whatever it is.

00:29:52: I don't feel in the moment like on a high-pressure situation but that's always what you make of it by the end today It IS life on tape!

00:30:02: If i mess up?

00:30:04: But this podcasting was really so much fun and so many guests Sooner or later.

00:30:11: also this project... I do not know how many podcasts there were almost eight hundred And I'm still a host of another German podcast.

00:30:27: Yeah, podcasting certainly became a passion!

00:30:30: Very cool and you started way before... It seems to me these days everybody has a podcast?

00:30:38: Late in the year Experimental phase, especially here in Europe.

00:30:45: Yeah way ahead of the curve.

00:30:47: so that's great.

00:30:47: That's great to hear.

00:30:49: well then let's bring you two today.

00:30:52: So obviously your part of this podcast which makes me very happy.

00:30:57: You have decided To talk about aviation instead of sports?

00:31:03: I guess we all know people that are here on a regular basis that Aviation is always there.

00:31:10: big passion off yours.

00:31:13: Do you think that you're just going to replace aviation completely with your sporting background?

00:31:20: Or do you still have space for some sporting podcasts, or are you all in on aviation now.

00:31:35: I would answer this question really podcast specific for aviation questions.

00:31:41: The physical side is For my person matters a lot.

00:31:45: But if I speak to the avi- aviators here today, maybe also interested in me as coach... ...I see it today more as support layer for mental performance.

00:31:59: So My goal is really to focus on mental coaching for aviation.

00:32:08: so this is sort of say i myself I will always train daily and i can highly recommend also all the pilots out there to stay physically active.

00:32:20: Also you do Stefan, this is so to say sorry for repeating myself but as a support layer an essential support layer for optimal mental performance.

00:32:35: okay that sounds good.

00:32:36: By the way, I wrote about it also in...I just mentioned before this mental coaching syllabus for aviation professionals.

00:32:48: So short freebies of it linked-in format are combined with an ice picture on LinkedIn and there already articles that pointing out what i said.

00:33:02: Yeah, I think there are a couple of articles that were read after today's podcast.

00:33:09: And one is also the strong body or at least fit-body and mind.

00:33:16: This was an article from last week.

00:33:21: we record this on Friday May fifteenth.

00:33:28: you can make your calculation.

00:33:29: Every Thursday afternoon is linked in article, sorry if I'm a little bit of bouncing ball today when it comes to answering the question.

00:33:39: please keep me on track!

00:33:43: No that's fine.

00:33:45: we went chronologically.

00:33:48: so obviously sports podcast, now we are doing this podcast together which is mostly about aviation.

00:34:03: But like you already said several times, You've decided to also become a mental coach.

00:34:08: so just in case people are wondering what kind of people can contact Is there anything specific, like would you prefer to prepare them for an exam or a SIM check?

00:34:23: Or I don't know... For job interview.

00:34:27: Or is it basically wide open to anyone who thinks they could benefit from any kind of mental health?

00:34:37: so-to say?

00:34:39: Mental Health is a thing I would say for psychologists.

00:34:46: Yeah, no, I mean...

00:34:48: I'm only working with mental healthy person who want to get an optimum from what's already in them and do correct you here little bit?

00:35:01: I not became lately a mental coach!

00:35:08: in the mental field, I started with this since two thousand and three.

00:35:13: And that gradually expanded into physical training.

00:35:17: also did climbing coaching and sports nutrition coaching but the mental work.

00:35:23: so the mental coaching always reminded the core element underneath all of it i think this sums it up was a trigger point, so to say.

00:35:37: A trigger that led to this mental coaching syllabus Was the conversation with you Stefan?

00:35:45: I don't know if your even remember but it wasn't late twenty-twenty four and i had a conversation With You how Mental coach could help Pilots!

00:35:57: I Don't Know If Your

00:35:59: Remember.

00:35:59: Yes

00:36:01: Okay afterwards I came up with a huge mind map and i don't think, that you sent it to me because in crazy handwriting.

00:36:14: But so...I still have the photo here!

00:36:19: And when we were preparing for this podcast suddenly did i keep this up?

00:36:25: Yes..i found it!

00:36:27: It was on one of my folders basic in the first files that were created for this podcast project.

00:36:37: And I mean, it became clearer and clearer from me month by months than a one-half really positive impact.

00:36:47: as a mental coach because This is where i can be of much Of most value For professional aviators.

00:37:00: I started really, more and more intensely working on these mental coaching syllabus which is so to say my own operational manual for my coachings.

00:37:11: And yeah in the last weeks i said it before its from me all or nothing was working twice a day normally one session of morning another evening.

00:37:25: grown to over one hundred and fifty pages, there is a lot of deep dives.

00:37:34: As you can imagine Stefan I'm well set up for a lot.

00:37:37: coaching scenarios already

00:37:41: good stuff right.

00:37:43: we've actually gone further than usually do with the thirty minutes.

00:37:50: So you mean it's getting boring, right?

00:37:52: No no but I think we've given everyone a bit of an idea what your background is.

00:38:01: What you did and doing And i think that we can all agree.

00:38:07: You have had remarkable life Very impressive very impressed and yeah, very humbled by what you've achieved.

00:38:17: You know from the two little boys that were sitting in the schoolyard laughing about nonsense

00:38:25: I remember a sunny afternoon Stefan sorry for interrupting but we were thinking was this soccer?

00:38:34: I think that the English, is it soccer?

00:38:36: Yes.

00:38:37: The class was playing soccer because two of us were sitting nearby and somehow weren't we the goalkeepers or one of us where a goalkeeper And suddenly the ball was rolling in the speed of...I don´t know just as it was rolling into the goal and it was quite embarrassing.

00:39:01: Do you remember?

00:39:01: I

00:39:02: think so, yes!

00:39:06: We were

00:39:06: both laughing at.

00:39:07: once again that sports teacher just shook his head and yeah...

00:39:14: we did everything apart from sport.

00:39:17: Welcome!
